This is to advise you that due to the Governor’s Stay Home policy being extended through May 15, I have decided to POSTPONE our May 9 election meeting. I’m not sure when it will get re-scheduled at this point. It is dependent upon our Governor’s rules. I will give all at least two weeks notice of the new meeting date which will include elections of officers for the District. I hope to see all of you, all posts, represented at that time.

Post 108, Oxford, at a recent meeting voted to provide the department the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) to be used for the Lodge at Higgins Lake in any way the committee sees fit. This was done during the visitation of District III Commander Eric Schuman when he told of the Lodge needing funds due to the replacement of 2 furnaces and the upcoming work to be done on the drain field. Commander Schuman also explained the rejuvenation of the adoption of cabins/rooms program.
The Oxford Post also donated five hundred dollars ($500.00) to a local boy named Chris Ophaus in sponsoring him on his bicycle trip for the “Wish A Mile” program as part of the Make-A-Wish Michigan Foundation. He’ll be riding the last weekend of July from Traverse City to Big Rapids, then on to Greenville, Grand Ledge, and ultimately finishing in Marshall, Michigan. These funds, Chris pointed out, would stay in the state of Michigan and not go to the national association. He will be riding over 300 miles during the trip.
