VETERANS RECOGNITION CEREMONY

Representing Michigan Department Commander Charles Petch, District III Commander Eric Schuman, attended the 1st Annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony at the state capitol November 7.

Speaking were Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) Director Zaneta Adams, and Maj. Gen. Paul Rogers Adjutant General and Director of Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Keynote speakers included Maj. Christopher Stone, a former POW, HR Director, and Juris Doctor graduate of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

At the end of the speeches, all Viet Nam veterans were asked to come forward and presented with a “Viet Name War Veteran” lapel pin. These were presented by Director Adams, Maj. Gen. Rogers, and Gov. Whitmer.

Our own Commander Schuman was fortunate and honored to “get pinned” by Gov. Whitmer.
